Job summary

The Mizel Arts and Culture Center in Denver, CO seeks a full-time Fine Arts Education Program Manager to support ceramics studio operations, gallery oversight, and camps programming. This role oversees administrative functions, budgeting, and collaboration with MACC leadership to deliver engaging arts education.

You will lead a small team, ensure safety and quality, coordinate with marketing, develop annual budgets, and help drive revenue while fostering an inclusive studio environment.

Qualifications

  • BA or BFA in Ceramics, Studio Art, Fine Art, or related degree; equivalent professional experience considered
  • Experience in studio management, staff supervision, and administrative tasks including budget development
  • Experience in art, design, and/or ceramic education or production
  • Strong ceramics techniques knowledge including hand-building, wheel throwing, glazing, and kiln firing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Friendly, self-starter attitude with relationship-building ability
  • Master’s degree in Ceramics, Studio Art, Fine Art, or related degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with budget development, revenue/expense tracking, fundraising, and donor relations
  • 5 years leadership and supervisory experience in a ceramic studio
  • First Aid CPR, OSHA 10 certifications
  • Familiarity with ceramic equipment repair

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all administrative and operational functions of the Ceramic Studio and fine arts offerings to ensure smooth operations and classes
  • Develop, plan, and implement programming and engagement opportunities for arts education
  • Collaborate with directors on summer camp programs and year-round offerings
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a small team of part-time staff, contractors, or volunteers
  • Provide safety guidance and inspect equipment; order repairs as needed
  • Develop annual studio budget and drive revenue for programming sustainability
  • Collaborate with Marketing to market programs and send monthly patron emails
  • Organize the Annual Ceramics sale and manage the lobby retail space
  • Foster inclusive programming and a welcoming studio environment
  • Lead ceramics instruction across wheel throwing, hand building, glazing, and kiln operations
  • Support grant efforts with development team
  • Attend regular meetings and participate in additional assigned duties
