Job summary

Spectrum Control is seeking a Ceramics Engineering Manager to guide the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced ceramic materials for commercial and aerospace/electronics applications.

You will lead NPI, process development, and continuous improvement, partnering with Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to meet performance, cost, and schedule targets. On-site in a manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of ceramic materials science, electronic component design, and advanced manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis, statistical process control, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with RCCA, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with aerospace and defense quality systems, standards, and certification requirements (AS9100, MIL-SPEC).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and manage design, development and support of electrical ceramic devices.
  • Lead formulation, processing of ceramic materials and metal systems.
  • Develop and optimize ceramic manufacturing processes and equipment (powder processing, forming, sintering, coating, finishing).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and performance.
  • Support audits and certifications for aerospace and defense programs.
  • Lead quality improvement projects using RCCA methods.
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff in ceramic design and process best practices.
