Job summary

Responsibilities

• Maintains material properties and performance by providing feedback to operations based on data from materials, in-process testing and finished material characterization.
• Knowledge of material characterization methods, including particle size analysis, powder properties and chemistry.
• Keeps complete process documentation for improvements and existing products.
• Drives continuous improvement to increase process efficiency through research and benchmarking.
• Communicates results and follows up on established actions.
• Gains hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes, in-process controls, SPC and equipment.
• Monitors production processes to ensure product consistency and quality.
• Uses SPC tools (control charts, DOE) to maintain and improve quality.
• Maintains documentation on incoming raw materials including specs and suppliers.
• Assists in testing and release of finished materials using company software.
• Forges positive relationships with manufacturing personnel to support quality initiatives.
• Understands where data is captured and stored for materials data.
• Performs process control and engineering functions as directed.
• Assists in any assigned area and may work various shifts.
