CoorsTek in the United States seeks an Engineer I to advance ceramic CNC new product development, combining engineering design, CNC machining, and materials science to move parts from concept to production.

You will translate drawings to machining processes, program CNC equipment, optimize tooling and cutting parameters, build prototypes, run tests, and work with machinists to improve quality, yield, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/manufacturing/industrial engineering or related field with 0–4 years of experience.
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and CAD models; basic understanding of CNC machining.
• Hands-on problem solving in a manufacturing environment; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Translate drawings and CAD models into practical CNC machining processes.
• Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment used to machine ceramic materials.
• Develop and optimize cutting parameters, tooling, fixturing, and machining strategies.
• Build and evaluate prototypes and first-article parts; perform testing and inspections.
• Troubleshoot machining, dimensional, surface-finish, and material-related issues.
• Collaborate with machinists and manufacturing staff to improve processes and part quality.
• Document development work, test results, and process improvements; assist in writing work instructions.
• Participate in root-cause investigations to improve quality, yield, cycle time, and tooling life.
