Job summary

Advanced Ceramic Coatings, LLC is seeking a Machining and Tooling Engineer to design, develop, and maintain manufacturing tools and fixtures for aeronautical coatings applications. The role emphasizes CAD/AutoCAD tooling, process optimization, and collaboration with production teams to reduce downtime.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, 3–5+ years in a machine shop or manufacturing environment, and experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and DOE methods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; 3–5+ years in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with traditional and non-traditional machining.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, DFM, DFA, DOE, FMEA, VA/VE is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Create or enhance tooling, fixtures, and molds using CAD/AutoCAD to support production and prototyping.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure high-quality output.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair machinery/tools, providing solutions during production.
  • Fabrication & Maintenance: Oversee tool fabrication, maintain tool records, and establish preventative maintenance programs.
  • Collaboration & Vendor Management: Work with design teams and vendors to ensure tools meet specifications and manage fabrication/validation.
