Job summary

JEWISHcolorado, based in Colorado, seeks a Chief Executive Officer with senior leadership experience and a deep commitment to community and peoplehood. The CEO will lead financial resource development, oversee fundraising strategy, and cultivate strong donor relationships to sustain programmatic impact.

The role includes managing a high-performing staff, supervising senior leadership, and ensuring efficient operations while strengthening partnerships across Colorado’s Jewish ecosystem and beyond.

Qualifications

• Senior-level leadership experience setting and articulating a clear vision.
• Proven success leading an entity of comparable size within nonprofit/mission-driven environments.
• Track record building, developing, and inspiring high-performing teams.
• Significant experience in total financial resource development oversight across campaigns and giving levels.
• Ability to personally cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and build long-term philanthropic relationships.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to build consensus across diverse stakeholders.
• Proven crisis management experience with risk assessment and stakeholder confidence.
• Excellent interpersonal, diplomacy, and organizational skills with integrity and authenticity.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication tailored to varied audiences.
• Experience partnering with leadership to foster strong lay-professional relationships.
• Comfort with integrated marketing and communications strategies using digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to the Board, staff, and community with a forward-looking vision.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the professional team and foster a high-performing culture.
• Recruit and evaluate a strong professional and lay team to advance JCO’s mission.
• Ensure HR, data platforms, and tech support organizational goals.
• Lead fundraising strategy and grow the donor base and annual campaign.
• Cultivate relationships with major donors and lead leadership gift solicitations.
• Leverage data and prospect research to strengthen fundraising systems.
• Expand donor pipelines by engaging new and underrepresented communities.
• Advance partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders.
• Serve as chief ambassador and spokesperson to funders and partners.
• Ensure messaging clearly communicates JCO’s positions and story.
