Job summary

Washington Health Benefit Exchange is seeking a CEO to provide strategic leadership in a dynamic health care, insurance and public policy environment. You will guide the organization’s mission, strengthen partnerships, and build trust with the Board, ELT and staff to meet evolving health coverage needs across Washington.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of progressively responsible senior leadership experience in healthcare, health policy, government or regulated environments.
• Experience working with governing boards and elected officials.
• Ability to build trusted relationships and coalitions across diverse constituencies.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction with the Board and executive leadership.
• Support effective Board governance and informed decision-making.
• Build strategic partnerships with federal/state officials, industry leaders and community partners.
• Lead legislative and policy engagement and align advocacy priorities with strategy.
• Represent and advocate for the Exchange with policymakers, partners, the public and media.
• Lead and develop the executive team with clear priorities and accountability.
• Strengthen organizational performance across finance, operations and technology.
• Lead organizational culture and change with integrity and transparency.
• Advance innovation and data-informed decision-making to improve service delivery.
