Job summary

Federated Rural Electric Association in Jackson, Minnesota seeks a strategically focused electric utility leader to become its next CEO. The Board seeks a collaborative, safety-focused leader with strong financial acumen and industry knowledge to guide both power and broadband initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of leadership and electric utility experience, with preferred exposure to legislation and cooperative values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; an advanced degree will set you apart.
• At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience is required.
• At least 5 years of electric utility experience is also required.
• Working knowledge of the broadband business model is important.
• Experience interacting with legislators and public officials is preferred.
• Electric cooperative experience and cooperative values are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cooperative as CEO, representing Federated REA in communities served.
• Oversee daily operations and manage financial performance.
• Implement board policies and strategic direction.
• Engage with members, regulators, and stakeholders across the region.
• Guide power supply and broadband initiatives to ensure long-term success.
