Job summary

Mystic Lake Casino Hotel seeks a Central Utility Plant Operator to oversee the casino resort’s central utility and hydronic systems. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and repair boilers, chillers, pumps, and related equipment in a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, responding to alarms, documenting work orders, and coordinating with shifts. Requires 2+ years of relevant experience and relevant licenses; a Boiler license or ability to obtain within 6 months is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and 2+ years operating, maintaining, or repairing central utility systems or equivalent.
• Knowledge of boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, piping, valves, and related mechanical systems.
• Ability to read gauges, meters, equipment controls, and mechanical drawings; follow procedures and manuals.
• Experience with CMMS software and basic computer applications.
• Familiarity with Building Automation System (Niagara N4 preferred).
• HVAC, plumbing, and water treatment principles; ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with shifts; respond to emergencies 24/7.
• Licenses: Boiler license or ability to obtain within 6 months; EPA Universal refrigerant license; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operates, monitors, inspects, maintains, and repairs central plant and hydronic systems.
• Monitors performance to maintain proper temperatures, pressures, and flow; reports anomalies.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance; minimizes disruptions.
• Responds to alarms and equipment failures; escalates as needed.
• Completes logs, work orders, and documentation; communicates status across shifts.
• Assists with start-ups/shutdowns, testing, and contractor activities.
• Maintains clean, safe plant areas; adheres to safety requirements.
