Job summary

Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, MN seeks a Central Utility Plant Operator to ensure safe, reliable operation of the casino resort’s central utility and hydronic systems. You’ll monitor, maintain, and repair boilers, chillers, and related equipment in a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities include responding to alarms, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting work in CMMS while coordinating with shifts and contractors. A strong mechanical background and HVAC knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of experience operating, maintaining, or repairing commercial or industrial HVAC, hydronic, boiler, chiller, or central utility plant systems
Working knowledge of boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, piping, valves, and related mechanical systems
Knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and water treatment principles
Ability to read gauges, meters, and equipment manuals
Ability to use CMMS and basic computer applications
Ability to work independently and coordinate with teams across shifts
Ability to respond to 24/7 emergencies and prioritize work
Experience with Building Automation Systems (Niagara N4 preferred)
Special Boiler License or ability to obtain within 6 months
Valid driver’s license
Refrigeration or related technical certifications preferred
OSHA/lockout/tagout safety training preferred

Responsibilities

Operates, monitors, inspects, maintains, and repairs central plant and hydronic systems.
Monitors performance and building automation to maintain conditions and report anomalies.
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize disruptions.
Responds to alarms, failures, leaks, and issues; escalates as needed.
Completes logs, work orders, and communicates status across shifts.
Assists with start-ups, shutdowns, and system testing.
Keeps plant areas clean, organized, and safe; follows procedures.
Provides responsive service while coordinating with guests and staff.
Uses data trends for predictive maintenance and CMMS documentation.
