Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking Stationary Engineers to operate and monitor the NIST Boulder Central Utility Plant on a 24/7/365 schedule. The role involves safe, reliable operation of high‑pressure steam boilers, chillers, and the Johnson Controls Metasys building management system.

You will perform routine inspections, log readings, respond to alarms, and coordinate with the on‑duty HVAC Mechanic. The ideal candidate has at least four years of stationary engineering experience and a valid Denver area

Qualifications

• Four years of verifiable stationary engineering experience.
• Valid Stationary Engineer Certificate within 180 days.
• Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate Central Utility Plant to meet steam, chilled water, and laboratory-grade air load.
• Monitor Metasys alarms and coordinate with the on-duty HVAC Mechanic.
• Perform routine inspections, log readings, calibrations, and condition assessments.
• Serve as shift supervisor when designated and coordinate safe shift operations.
