  • Experience developing or managing maintenance plans and O&M budgets.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with plant operators, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the performance and operating condition of the Central Utility Plant.
  • Work closely with the on-site O&M contractor to ensure contractual and operational requirements are met.
  • Monitor utility systems including boilers, steam systems, chillers, compressors, and related plant utilities.
  • Review plant incidents, analyze root causes, and confirm corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop the Annual Maintenance Plan and O&M Budget.
  • Manage budget vs. actual performance and authorize maintenance expenditures within established approval limits.
  • Identify and recommend equipment upgrades, reliability improvements, and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Manage operational and contractual risks involving customers and O&M contractors.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the customer, O&M contractor, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support emergency response activities as required.
  • Provide technical advice regarding boilers, chillers, compressors, and other utility equipment.
  • Provide technical support and advice to the Business Development team for new industrial energy projects across the U.S.
  • Consider overall plant performance, operating costs, and profitability when making asset management decisions.

Plant Asset Manager – Utility & Energy Services

Location: Greenville, South Carolina

Work Style: On-site

Employment: Full-time

Salary: $100K~150K (Commensurate with experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Plant Asset Manager to oversee the technical and operational asset management of a Central Utility Plant (CUP) supporting an industrial manufacturing facility.

This is not a financial or investment asset management position.

The role focuses on the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of plant utility systems, including boilers, steam systems, chillers, compressors, and related utility equipment.

The Plant Asset Manager will work closely with the on-site O&M contractor, customer, and other stakeholders to ensure reliable plant operations, manage maintenance planning and budgets, address operational and contractual risks, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience managing or working closely with third-party O&M contractors
  • Experience in industrial environments such as chemical, petrochemical, power generation, manufacturing, central utility plants, or energy services
  • Experience with contract management, operational risk management, and budget control
  • Previous experience working with a Japanese company or Japanese business organization
  • Experience balancing technical plant requirements with cost, business performance, and profitability
