Job Description: Central Service Technician II

Position Type: Full Time, Evening Shift (M-F W/e & H 3P-11P)

Position Summary: The Central Service Technician II is responsible for ensuring proper handling, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment. Certified as CRCST or CSPDT, they work independently, train others, and serve as a resource within the hospital.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to hospital policies, standards, and behaviors.
2. Understand and articulate job responsibilities.
3. Update knowledge through staff meetings and complete competency requirements.
4. Follow safety standards, handle and operate decontamination and sterilization equipment properly.
5. Assemble, wrap, label, and inspect instruments, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
6. Maintain proper storage of sterile supplies and select appropriate sterilization methods.
7. Track and distribute supplies and equipment efficiently.
8. Maintain a clean work environment and serve as a resource for Central Processing functions.
9. Transport patients as needed, and perform related duties including inventory management and compliance tracking.
10. Complete 10 Continuing Education Credits annually.

Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Certification as CRCST or CSPDT required unless grandfathered with specific work history. Previous experience preferred.
