Job summary

U.M. FDSP Associates PA is seeking a Sterilization Support Technician to assist in preparing, sterilizing, and handling medical instruments for a dental school setting. You will maintain instrument logistics, records, and supply levels under supervision.

The role requires basic math, reliability, and ability to work in a healthcare environment with protective equipment. Normal hours Monday through Friday, with potential overtime or weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1 year of related experience in materials management, central sterilization or similar healthcare setting.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and follow written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, stand and walk for extended periods, and handle equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Prepares instruments for sterilization and decontamination.
• Operates washer/sterilizer, heat sealer, autoclave, and sonic washer.
• Logs instruments in/out using manual or barcode system and updates records.
• Pre-packages cassettes and wraps in sterile paper with IDs.
• Loads carts with cassettes, supplies, and equipment per patient care requirements.
• Receives, inspects, and manages contaminated instruments; routes to Central Sterile Unit.
