Job summary

Tufts University School of Dental Medicine is seeking a Central Sterilization Assistant to support sterilization processing, instrument handling, and clinic operations in a fast-paced environment. The role includes loading and unloading autoclaves, maintaining handpieces, and ensuring a smooth workflow for patients, students, and staff.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or the equivalent with up to 1 year related experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Process instruments, inspect cassettes, replace missing or damaged instruments, and prepare for sterilization. Load and unload autoclave and follow safety policies.
• Transport and secure instruments following instrument tracking system protocols across the building.
• Handle handpiece maintenance following manufacturers' recommendations and university protocol.
• Collaborate with Clinical Support Project Manager/Coordinator to ensure smooth facility and clinic operations.
