Job summary

The University of Utah School of Dentistry is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to support daily sterilization and instrument reprocessing across our dental clinics. You will clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute dental instruments in accordance with infection control standards.

This position does not provide patient care but supports students, faculty, and clinical teams by maintaining sterile instrument workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent appears in qualifications.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience in sterile processing or medical clinic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly and sterilization of instruments.
• Operate washer/disinfectors and steam sterilizers (autoclaves).
• Assemble instrument cassettes and maintain clinic inventories.
• Record sterilization indicators and maintain records.
