Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join our team in Atlanta, GA. You will sterilize, assemble and store instruments, ensuring adherence to standards and supporting the Perioperative team with timely instrument sets and case carts.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and CST certification or 3 years of Central Sterile experience. This is a hospital-based, on-site role within a collaborative care environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of Central Sterile Tech program is required.
• If not CST-certified, 3 years Central Sterile experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous workflow, providing superior customer service.

• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
