Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, and sterilization of surgical instruments. You will prepare instrument sets and case carts in a timely, accurate manner and support Perioperative Nursing staff.

Education and CST credentials are preferred; HS diploma or GED required. Three years of Central Sterile experience may substitute certification. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED required; CST certification preferred.
• Graduate of Central Sterile Tech program or equivalent credential is desirable.
• In lieu of CST certification, 3 years of Central Sterile experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments accurately and promptly.
• Perioperative Nursing staff collaboration to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts.
• Supports continuous workflow and delivers superior customer service.

• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
