Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Processing professional to maintain sterilization standards and assemble instrument sets for surgical procedures. The role supports timely workflow and collaborates closely with Perioperative Nursing staff.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, and completion of a Central Sterile Processing or Surgical Tech program, with preferred prior experience in Central Sterile or Surgical Technology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Central Sterile Processing or Surgical Tech program required.
• In lieu of graduate of program, prior experience as Central Service or Surgical Tech required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for sterilization and handling of surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, and equipment in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program Required or
• In Lieu of graduate of Central Sterile Processing or Surgical Tech program, must have prior experience as a Central Service or Surgical Tech Required

Work Experience

• Prior experience in Central Sterile or Surgical Technology Preferred
