Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our perioperative team. You will maintain standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.

Collaborate with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment, support workflow continuity, and deliver exceptional patient care and service to our patients and teams.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program required.
• In lieu of graduate, prior Central Service or Surgical Tech experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, and equipment in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Education

• Graduate of a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program Required or
• In Lieu of graduate of Central Sterile Processing or Surgical Tech program, must have prior experience as a Central Service or Surgical Tech Required

Work Experience

• Prior experience in Central Sterile or Surgical Technology Preferred
