Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center is hiring a Central Sterile Tech for PRN and variable shifts. The role supports the operating room with sterile setup, instrument handling and specimen transport to the lab.

The position requires BLS, ACLS and PALS within specified timelines, plus preference for 1 year of experience and ASLS certification. The department emphasizes a supportive team and a commitment to patient care, with opportunities for professional development and comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; BLS within 30 days.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months.
• One year of experience preferred; ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Counts instruments and supplies.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
