Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Central Sterile Tech Uncertified to join our operating room support team. The role focuses on preparing the sterile field, maintaining equipment, and assisting in transport and draping during procedures.

You will work Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and call rotations to ensure coverage; candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, and are required to obtain BLS within 30 days and ACLS/PALS within six

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Accounts for instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.

More About Our Team

The operating room is equipped with six beds and handles an average of 400 cases per month. The scope of procedures includes a diverse range of specialties: Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Cataract and Retinal Eye surgeries, Gynecologic, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Plastic and Reconstructive, and Gastroenterological surgeries. The majority of cases are general and orthopedic. Surgical operations are conducted Monday through Friday, with additional night, weekend, and holiday call rotations to ensure continuous coverage.

How You'll Contribute

A Central Sterile Tech Uncertified who excels in this role:

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should possess a high school degree or GED. Additional requirements include:
