Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to support sterile processing and instrumentation for a range of surgical cases. This full-time role emphasizes aseptic technique, attention to detail, and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure safe patient care.

Qualifications include a Central Sterile Technician certification, BLS within 30 days, ACLS/PALS within six months, and 1+ year in sterile processing or related healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• Central Sterile Technician certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• BLS within 30 days; ACLS/PALS within six months of hire.
• At least one year of sterile processing or healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, decontaminate, assemble and sterilize instruments per guidelines.
• Document sterile supplies and equipment daily with indicators.
• Monitor antimicrobial and disinfection solutions per instructions.
• Operate departmental equipment safely and daily.
• Manage inventory levels and proper storage of sterile supplies.
• Maintain documentation of sterilization cycles and maintenance.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure availability of supplies.
• Provide customer service to departments with patient needs in mind.
