Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Central Sterile Tech to handle decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies used throughout the hospital and clinics. The role includes charging and logging of service and patient charges for the OR, plus daily biological testing.

Qualifications

• Float between UCI Health locations as needed
• Accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience
• Float between the Orange and Irvine locations as needed
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Preferred: experience in a fast paced healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment for the department across the hospital and clinics
• Assist with charging, billing, and logging of service as well as patient charges for the OR
• Perform daily biological testing and participate in performance improvement projects as requested
