The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, plus experience in central sterile environments and preferred certifications such as Central Supply and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires.
• Two years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate preferred.
• At least two years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required.
• Central Supply Certified certification required within two years from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of Central Sterile trays and instruments.
• Inventory management, restocking of supplies, and computer data entry.
• Demonstrates knowledge of department locations and effective communication.
• Maintains awareness of patient supplies and equipment.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Two years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician

Central Supply Certified certification

Current BLS (AHA) certificate

At least two years experience as a Central Sterile Technician

Central Supply Certified certification within two years from date of hire
