Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL seeks a Central Sterile Technician for the Sterile Processing department. The role focuses on decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of trays and instruments, with inventory management and data entry responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, plus experience in central sterile environments and preferred certifications such as Central Supply and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires.
• Two years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate preferred.
• At least two years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required.
• Central Supply Certified certification required within two years from date of hire.

Location: Chicago, IL

Responsibilities

The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment, inventory and restocking of supplies, computer data entry and patient charge card batching. Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment.

Facility Specific Requirements (as applicable required):

• 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• 2. Two (2) years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• 3. Central Supply Certified certification, preferred
• 4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate, preferred
• 5. At least two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required
• 6. Current BLS (AHA) certificate.
• 7. Central Supply Certified certification required
• 8. Central Supply Certified certification required within two years from date of hire at designated facilities
