Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ, is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join our team on the Day shift. You will handle decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of trays, instruments, and equipment, while maintaining accurate inventory and data entry.

This role requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent, with two years of CST experience preferred, and certification in Central Supply. Current BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required for new hires.
• Two years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, and equipment.
• Inventory management and restocking of supplies; data entry and patient charge batching.
• Demonstrates knowledge of department locations and effective communication.
