Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ, is seeking a detail-oriented Central Sterile Technician to support our surgical services and patient care teams. This role contributes to safe, efficient sterilization and inventory management in a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities include decontamination, preparation, sterilization of trays and instruments, data entry and charge batching. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 years of CST experience, and ideally Central Supply

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Two (2) years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification, preferred
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate, preferred

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Two (2) years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification, preferred
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate, preferred

Facility Specific Requirements (as Applicable Required)

• At least two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate.
• Central Supply Certified certification required
• Central Supply Certified certification required within two years from date of hire at designated facilities
