Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain sterilization standards and assemble instrument sets for procedures. The role supports Perioperative Nursing by providing sterile instrument sets, carts, and supplies promptly.

A strong emphasis on accuracy and timely delivery helps ensure patient safety and efficient workflow. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and either CST certification or at least 3 years of Central Sterile experience.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Program required.
• 3 years Central Sterile experience required, or CST certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide instrument sets and case carts in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous workflow and provides superior customer service.

Responsibilities:

Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner. Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
