Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain sterile instrument sets, decontaminate and sterilize equipment, and support case carts for surgeries. You will work closely with perioperative teams to ensure timely and accurate instrument availability in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role requires a GED or equivalent, CST program completion or CST certification preferred, with 3 years of sterile processing experience being an alternative.

Qualifications

• GED or higher required.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech program or equivalent experience.
• CST certification preferred; significant Central Sterile experience acceptable in lieu of CST.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, and sterilization of surgical instruments.
• Collaborates with Perioperative staff to provide sterile instrument sets and carts.

Responsibilities:

Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner. Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
