Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join our perioperative team. You will maintain standards for instrument assembly, decontamination, and sterilization, ensuring timely availability of sterile sets and case carts.

You will collaborate with Perioperative Nursing as part of a dedicated team, delivering high-quality service and patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment at Piedmont.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech program required.
• In lieu of CST certificate, 3 years Central Sterile experience required.
• 3 years Central Sterile experience required.
• CCST or CST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for assembly, decontamination, inspection and sterilizing instruments.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to provide sterile instrument sets and case carts.
• Assists in maintaining workflow and delivers superior customer service.

Responsibilities:

Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner. Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
