UR Medicine Thompson Health in Canandaigua, NY is seeking a Central Sterile Supply Technician to join our busy department. You will handle distribution of reusable supplies and equipment, ensure proper decontamination and terminal sterilization, and support the supervisor with daily activities and onboarding of new associates.

The role requires a high school diploma and CST certification within 18 months, with 1–3 years of CST experience preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma; IAHCSMM certification within 18 months.
• 1–3 years CST experience preferred.
• No experience is required.

Pay Range: $21.94 -$26.00, based on experience

Main Function:

• Responsible for distribution of reusable supplies and equipment.
• Ensures decontamination of supplies & equipment through the process of cleaning & terminal sterilization according to pre-established guidelines.
• Assists supervisor in daily departmental activities, including orientation of new associates.

Required Job Specific Competencies:

• Demonstrates the ability to work independently and exhibits flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments.
• Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with the Central Sterile Supply

• Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive info including but not limited to the patients, staff and the health system.
• Maintains status as a Certified Central Service Technician.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current certification through IAHCSMM or equivalent required within 18 months of employment.
• One to three years as a technician of Central Sterile Supply preferred.
• No experience is required.

Pay Range: $21.94 -$26.00
