Job summary

UPMC Hamot is seeking detail-oriented Central Sterile Processing candidates to join our team. In this role you will perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging and sterilization of reusable surgical instruments to support safe patient care.

Full-time, 2nd shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM) with weekend and holiday rotations after training. Eligible candidates may qualify for a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and certified CP techs may qualify for up to $5,000.

Qualifications

Prior Central Sterile processing experience is highly preferred.
Prior healthcare experience is highly preferred.
Individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates who are comfortable being on their feet for extended periods and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and patient safety.

Responsibilities

Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization and storage of instruments.
Document sterilization processes and maintain accurate records.
Monitor sterilizers and maintain inventory.
Collaborate with operating rooms to support patient safety and care.
Adhere to infection control and safety policies.
