Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, FL is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician to manage sterilization, instrument processing, and inventory for the surgical team. You will ensure compliance with safety standards, track inventories, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

CRCST or CSPDT certification is required, with strong attention to detail and effective communication. Full-time night shift in Florida with comprehensive benefits starting day one and opportunities for professional growth

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in English and able to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of sterilization standards and infectious control.
• Experience with surgical instrumentation and instrument tracking.
• Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing program or Surgical Tech program.
• Basic computer skills for inventory and record keeping.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintains records of sterilization activities and inventory levels.

Job Description:

• Maintains accurate records of sterilization activities and inventory levels.Other duties as assigned.


• Operates sterilization equipment and inspects instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning. Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment according to instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols.


• Corrects instrument sets according to current standards, established count sheets, and/or instrument tracking systems. Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.


• Performs regular quality assurance program audits of peers. Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure timely availability of sterilized instruments and equipment. Monitors and documents sterilization processes to ensure compliance with safety standards.


• Troubleshoots and resolves issues with sterilization equipment and processes. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sterilization processes. Trains new staff on sterilization procedures and protocols.


• Ensures proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Work Experience:

• 1+Sterile Processingexperience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST)[Required]OR


• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)[Required]


• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]
