Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking an experienced Central Resource Pool Registered Nurse to ensure exceptional patient care. The role emphasizes clinical judgment, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team to report changes in patient condition.

Requirements include a nursing diploma/associate degree, VA RN license (or multi-state with VA eligibility), and BLS certification. BSN preferred or in progress.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program is required.
• BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program is preferred.
• Current RN license in Virginia or multi-state compact with Virginia eligibility.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Responsibilities

• As a Central Resource Pool RN, assess, plan, intervene and evaluate patient care.
• Demonstrate clinical judgment and maintain confidentiality in all communications.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and report changes in patient condition.
• Provide comfort and alleviate suffering through attentive presence and pain assessment.
• Document accurately and timely according to organizational policy.
• Coordinate care with patients and families to ensure an up-to-date plan of care.
