Job summary

Harmons Grocery is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare high-quality food at its Central Production Facility in West Valley City, Utah. You will follow Harmons’ recipes and production schedules, operate industrial kitchen equipment safely, and batch cook to exact specifications to ensure consistency across all locations.

Candidates should understand GMPs, food safety standards, and proper labeling, storage, and log-keeping requirements. Weekend/evening/holiday availability is needed.

Qualifications

• Basic math and ability to read recipes and scales.
• Current food handler’s permit and familiarity with GMPs.
• Experience with large-scale batch cooking is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of foods following recipes and schedules.
• Operate industrial kitchen equipment safely (tilting kettles, steamers, ovens, mixers).
• Batch cook to precise specifications to ensure consistency.
• Adhere to GMPs and Food Safety procedures.
• Record logs for cooking and cooling, yields, and batch sizes.
• Coordinate with prep cooks to maintain efficient production flow.
• Monitor temperatures, textures, and flavor profiles; conduct taste tests.
