Job summary

Harmons Grocery in Salt Lake City is seeking a kitchen associate to support chefs with cooking, frying, and preparing food items from recipes. You will ensure product quality, proper temperatures, and timely stock replenishment, while delivering excellent customer service in a bustling kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include following policies, maintaining cleanliness, validating pricing and signage, and assisting with pizza prep and take‑and‑bake items as directed by the Kitchen

Qualifications

• Ability to learn and use proper knife skills.
• Must enjoy working with and handling various food products.
• Should have a passion for preparing, cooking, and eating good food.
• Current Food Handler’s Permit.
• Ability to read and follow a recipe.
• Basic math skills used to double or half a recipe.
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
• Excellent organization and planning skills.
• Must possess solid communication skills with customers and fellow associates.
• Must accept constructive feedback and be accountable for personal and team success.

Responsibilities

• Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures.
• Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the Kitchen provides.
• Ensures the Kitchen is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets company standards.
• Maintains the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the Kitchen.
• Delivers excellent customer service to all customers.
• Cooks and fries all hot foods for the Kitchen.
• Weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes.
• Prepares all pizza items following Harmons’ recipes, including take-and-bake and hot case items.
• Uses kitchen equipment to cook, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, slice, or shred ingredients.
• Assembles and packages to-go soups, salads, dips, sandwiches, and other chef items.
• Prepares sauces for wok bar items.
• Documents food safety temperatures using logs.
• Assists in dish room cleanliness and maintenance.
• Checks food loads and ensures proper storage and stocking.
