An established healthcare provider seeks a dedicated individual to join their lab team, providing essential technical support and ensuring accurate processing of lab tests. Provides technical support to the lab by receiving and processing requisitions and specimens, and ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures. Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into the computer.
Education: High School diploma or GED required.
Preferred Education: Associate's Degree with at least 6 semester hours of chemistry and 6 semester hours of biology.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations: MLA certification from a recognized credentialing agency (e.g., ASCP or AMT) preferred.
Experience: Previous work experience strongly preferred. Keyboarding skills, 40 wpm, preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service environment, prioritize and adapt to changing tasks, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively under stress. Must work well in a team and demonstrate integrity and accuracy in patient identification. Flexibility regarding shift end times may be required.
