An established industry player is seeking a dedicated individual to provide essential technical support in a dynamic lab environment. This role involves processing requisitions, entering lab data, and ensuring accuracy in patient identification. Provides technical support to the lab by receiving and processing requisitions and specimens, and ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures. Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into the computer.
Education: High School diploma or GED required.
Preferred Education: Associates Degree with at least 6 semester hours of chemistry and 6 semester hours of biology.
License, certification, and/or registration: MLA certification from a recognized credentialing agency (e.g., ASCP or AMT) preferred.
Experience: Previous work experience strongly preferred. Keyboarding skills, 40 wpm, preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service environment; ability to prioritize and adapt to changing tasks; maintain confidentiality; work under stress with minimal downtime; work effectively in a team; ensure accuracy in patient identification; flexibility regarding shift end times.
