Job summary

Hokanson Companies, Inc. in Detroit seeks a Maintenance Technician responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, HVAC, pumps, and central plant controls to keep facilities safe and comfortable.

You will perform preventive/corrective maintenance on MEP systems, monitor data, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate with engineers on upgrades. The role requires 3 years of related experience and strong problem-solving.

Qualifications

• HVAC, mechanical, electrical or related field knowledge preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in central plant or commercial building maintenance.
• Ability to read technical manuals, drawings and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers, air compressors, water treatment systems and central plant equipment.
• Perform preventive, routine, and corrective maintenance on MEP systems.
• Monitor, record and analyze equipment data; respond to alarms.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, valves and controls.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory.
• Assist energy management and optimize equipment performance.
• Respond to emergency calls for central plant equipment failures.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors and management on upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements.
