Job summary

Hokanson Companies, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to operate, maintain, and repair boilers, HVAC systems, pumps, and related controls within our Aurora facility.

The role focuses on keeping central plant equipment running efficiently and safely to support building operations and occupant comfort. Key duties include preventive and corrective maintenance of MEP systems, monitoring performance data, and troubleshooting pumps, motors, and control systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in central plant or commercial building maintenance.
• Knowledge of boilers and HVAC system operation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
• Familiarity with digital controls and building automation systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers, air compressors, and central plant equipment.
• Perform preventive, routine, and corrective maintenance on MEP systems.
• Monitor data, respond to alarms, and analyze operating trends.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, valves, and control systems.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and inventory.
• Support energy management by optimizing performance.
• Respond to emergencies involving central plant equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and management on upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
