Qualifications

• Must hold a current First or Second Class Steam Fireman’s license issued by the MA DPS.
• Knowledge of high- and low-pressure boilers and cogeneration equipment.
• Familiar with reading meters, gauges, and controlling systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers and cogeneration equipment per SOPs and safety rules.
• Read meters and gauges; adjust controls to maintain temperature, pressure, and water levels.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions; coordinate repairs or shutdowns as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, pumps, burners, and piping.
• Maintain logs including temperature, fuel use, and system performance.
• Support campus heating operations and respond to service calls.
