Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking a highly skilled Plant Operations and Maintenance professional to manage the operation, maintenance and repair of the Central Plant and associated systems. You will help ensure reliable plant performance, safety, and adherence to campus standards.

The role requires experience in turbine and boiler related systems, strong record-keeping, and the ability to respond to emergencies with clear communication to campus stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of rigging and lifting heavy equipment.
• Ability to align pumps, fans, and motors.
• Pipe fitting skills for various sizing including Black pipe, PVC, SS tubing.
• Knowledge of gas turbine engines and electrical systems.
• Experience with maintaining logs, records, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Must have valid California driver’s license and DMV requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, service and repair Central Plant equipment and systems.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment operation and maintenance in log sheets/logbooks.
• Provide emergency services and strong customer communications to the campus community.
• Develop and maintain preventive and corrective maintenance programs for reliable operation.
• Perform other duties related to central plant operations as assigned.
