Job summary

Dallas City Hall is seeking a Library Manager for Central Services (Library) to oversee Central Library operations, staffing and program delivery, including systemwide library services. You will supervise managers and coordinators, train staff, and ensure high-quality customer service and community engagement.

The role involves developing regional goals, managing budgets and collections, and presenting usage reports.

Qualifications

• Seven years of job-related experience with at least three years in a supervisory role.
• Master's degree in Library Science or relevant bachelor’s degree as specified.
• Knowledge of regional library management and personnel management.
• Experience with program development, grant applications, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Oversees Central Library operations, staffing and program delivery.
• Plans and oversees event, art/music programs and other services.
• Directs staff coaching and development; manages scheduling and priorities.
• Manages customer service activities and facility maintenance.
• Oversees budgeting, staffing, collection curation and resource allocation.
• Prepares reports on library usage and performance.
• Interviews and processes new hires; ensures staff training.
• Collaborates on events and public art displays at the Central Library.
• Ensures safety and security of facilities and patrons.
