WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Siding Products Group (SPG) is seeking a driven, talented, and experienced Injection Molding Process Manager to join our team. The role focuses on driving process excellence using Industry 4.0 methodologies to support our growing business. Projects will aim to reduce variation in critical process variables and develop sustainable systems to enhance processes, performance, and product development across SPG’s extensive product line.

The Central Injection Molding Process Manager will lead cross-functional teams, managing projects to achieve objectives. Responsibilities include overseeing Process Improvement initiatives in Injection Molding, equipment setup, troubleshooting process inefficiencies, and secondary areas such as Blending materials, Feeding materials, and Foam Extrusion processing.

The role involves collaboration with R&D, Quality & Process Control, Plant Operations, Project Engineers, and Product Managers to plan projects, conduct experiments, analyze data, and communicate findings. The candidate will also propose new projects, specify equipment and molds, and support new color development.

This position supports the Process Optimization Support team, assisting with operational challenges across departments like Extrusion, Packaging, and Material Handling.

1. Develop and improve Injection Molding processes to reduce costs using advanced technology.
2. Collaborate on NPD projects, process improvements, raw material usage, and equipment commissioning.
3. Lead Scale Up processes to ensure manufacturing readiness for new processes, equipment, and products.
4. Manage process parameters and control plans for all Injection Molding processes.
5. Serve as SME for Injection Molding, training plant resources and transferring knowledge.
6. Support plant troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for Injection Molding issues.
7. Build a community of process engineers to share information and best practices.
8. Promote sustainability initiatives aligned with business needs.
9. Provide technical leadership and manage multiple projects within budget and schedule.
10. Communicate effectively across teams and with external partners, utilizing technical knowledge to advance projects.
11. Develop and mentor employees to their full potential and demonstrate technical leadership.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in manufacturing or R&D, with troubleshooting expertise in injection mold tooling.
• Strong mechanical background, including machining practices and equipment design.
• Experience in polymer processing (Injection Molding, Extrusion, etc.).
• Excellent project management skills, innovative thinking, and success in transferring projects to manufacturing.
• Technical expertise in materials processing, statistical tools, data analysis, and technical documentation.
• Proven ability to lead projects using structured methodologies like Stage Gate.
• Strong problem-solving skills and team collaboration abilities.
• Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and understand company policies.
