Qualifications

• Must meet state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Must be currently certified as a pharmacy technician (PTCB or ExCPT).
• Must be registered on the Texas State Board of Pharmacy website.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies as prescribed by physicians.
• Process prescriptions, including counting, bottling, labeling, and recording medication dosages.
• Receive and process prescriptions, including entering prescription information into computer system and verifying accuracy.
• Perform inventory control, including stocking and re-stocking medications and supplies, removing expired items, and reporting on inventory levels.
• Answer phone calls, manage customer queries and forward complex queries to the pharmacist.
• Process insurance claims and manage payments.
• Comply with all security measures and quality standards of pharmaceutical care.
• Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, including storing and disposing of medications and supplies properly.
• Participate in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care and pharmacy operations.
