Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking substitute teachers to support classrooms in the Central & Coastal San Diego area. You will supervise students, maintain a safe environment, and follow teacher plans to ensure continuity of instruction.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree or college credits and be able to pass state and federal background checks. Scoot offers paid training, weekly pay, direct deposit, and a 401(k) option for eligible staff, with a referral program available.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment; encourage student engagement.
• Manage classroom routines and transitions; follow lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Communicate clearly with school staff and leave notes for the returning teacher.

Daily Pay Range:

Pay will vary forday-to-day assignments and is typicallymore for long-term placements.Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor
• State - federal background checks

• Have a teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit
• Have previous experience in special education settings
• Are bilingual and/or have bilingual teaching experience

You'll Do:

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria
