Essential Functions
- Engage with project and organizational leadership to ensure shared vision and strategy for partnership development and relationship management.
- Develop and implement an outreach plan for designated countries within the Central American portfolio, working collaboratively with key internal stakeholders across departments, and regional experts.
- Manage existing partnership relationships, including day‑to‑day planning and engagement, as well as build new partnerships through stakeholder mapping, partner cultivation, and effective partnership management.
- Drive regional alignment by developing shared tools and standardized processes, providing the necessary support and cross‑coverage to maintain partnership continuity.
- Monitor and analyze humanitarian, rapid response, and community resilience partnership trends ensuring that the GSD’s partnership proposition remains compelling and relevant to GSD’s mission and the region.
- Identify gaps and opportunities in coordination with partners, and activate resources to translate shared objectives into action.
- Synthesize GSD’s programs into clear, compelling presentations, proposals, and reports for public and private sector audiences which position GSD as a trusted, reliable, and respected partner in the humanitarian and development sectors.
- Identify and support the coordination of GSD’s partner engagement activities to promote the services of the organization, including philanthropic actions.
- Help facilitate internal GSD and external partner‑focused communication, including updates on relationship development, engagement opportunities and outcomes, and annual impacts.
- Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) records for partner portfolios and disseminate results and success stories for internal and external audiences.
- Prompt and action GSD’s core values of accountability, humility, and integrity in all work we conduct.
- Promote good stewardship of financial and other resources to achieve maximum benefit to those impacted by disaster or at risk of impact.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of progressive work experience in partner/stakeholder management and engagement in Central America, preferably in the humanitarian sector, to include any/all of the following:
- Partnership identification, outreach, and cultivation;
- Design and management of partner agreements and events; and/or
- Supporting donor‑funded projects to advance rapid response and resilience.
- Desirable lived experience in the region;
- Three (3) or more years experience operating in partner/stakeholder management preferably in an international context;
- Proven experience developing programs and teams.
Required Education:
- BA in humanitarian affairs, communications, marketing, international relations, public relations or related field; or
- Equivalent combination of relevant experience and training; and
- Masters of Public Administration (MPA) or a degree in a related field is desirable.
Professional Licenses/Certifications:
- Certificate in project management is desirable.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work with partners and translate shared objectives into operational delivery and, at times, respond quickly to changes in short‑term priorities;
- Ability to identify and build processes required to support effective partnerships;
- High‑level communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including presentation ability;
- Cultural awareness and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide array of stakeholders to build relationships;
- Discernment for confidentiality in relation to organizational, partner, and donor activities and communications;
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to rapidly shift tasks;
- Experience working and/or traveling domestically and internationally;
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish or French required.

- Work is performed in an office setting and is generally sedentary, possibly involving movement for brief periods.

Working Conditions During Deployment Periods (Including Rapid Response)
- May be regularly exposed to and required to work in varying outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, heavy rainfall, and other extreme weather events.
- May be required to engage in irregular travel and/or work schedules, which may include extended hours exceeding 8 or 12 hours in a day for prolonged periods outside of the individual's control.
- While wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) which is required and provided by GSD:
- Work may be conducted near moving mechanical parts, including exposure to loud noises;
- Work may be conducted near and include potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals;
- Work may be conducted in areas that include exposure to the risk of electrical shock or vibration.
- Ability to obtain necessary travel documents and fulfill any other travel requirements (including an active passport, visa requirements, vaccinations, etc.).
- Role may include deployments to support natural disaster response efforts within hazardous, dynamic, and unstable environments, which could include lack of access to medical care, exposure to critical incidents, traumatic encounters, and uncommon sleeping arrangements.
- GSD’s nutritional environment contains milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy, and wheat products. Ability to make dietary accommodations may be limited; potential exposure to food‑borne allergens.
- Employees may be required to work on our Humanitarian Vessel for up to 30 consecutive days. The vessel’s working environment involves steep and narrow stairs, living spaces, close quarters, sharp surfaces, metal gangways, heavy doors, European‑type plugs (220‑240 V, 60 Hz), bright and flashing lights, loud noises, nuts and shellfish exposure, poor weather, possible motion sickness, and limited access to hospital care.
Physical Demands During Deployment Periods
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to regularly engage in manual dexterity.
- Essential physical requirements (depending on job description) may also include climbing, balancing, reaching or stretching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
- Ability to frequently move, lift, push, pull, carry items weighing up to 20 pounds for various needs.
