Job summary

Howard University is seeking a Centers and Institutes Operations Partner to serve as a senior coordination professional supporting the launch, growth, and operational continuity of the university’s Centers and Institutes. You will work across administrative offices to build infrastructure, onboard new Centers and Institutes, and sustain day-one readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, higher education administration, public administration, organizational leadership, or a related field.
• Five to seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in higher education administration or a complex institutional environment.
• Working knowledge of Workday or a comparable ERP system and related administrative workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the central operations coordinator for Centers and Institutes across offices.
• Coordinate onboarding for new Centers and Institutes to ensure day-one readiness.
• Review intake requests for completeness and quality to prevent delays.
• Track cross-functional requests, identify bottlenecks, and escalate when timelines slip.
• Provide coordination support for expanding programs and staffing changes.
• Develop and refine operational playbooks detailing processes, roles, timelines, and requirements.
• Conduct annual training and orientation for center directors and staff on processes and resources.
• Collaborate with Development and Alumni Relations to support fund activation and readiness.
• Assist with annual budget planning and space planning in collaboration with leaders.
