Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. is seeking a Centerless - Machine Operator to run precision machines handling highly repetitive parts. Training is provided as setups are prepared by others and work follows documented procedures in a controlled environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic math and problem solving skills, and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Prior CNC grinding experience is highly preferred, and strong communication and direction-following abilities

• Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, operations.
• Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Strongly preferred candidates have previous experience operating CNC grinding equipment such as Walter, Ewag, Rollamatic, ANCA, Waida, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow directions.

Brief Description

Operate one or more machines to perform simple machine operations on highly repetitive and standardized parts and details on metal or other material.

The setups are made by others and instructions are given on operating procedures.

Work is performed under close supervision and subject to strict process inspection procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Well-lit machine shop with moderate noise. Staff members will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing. Staff members will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.

Job Requirements
